🌿 Nurturing Joy: A 6-Part Wellness Workshop Series 🌿

Join us for a free monthly wellness workshop series designed for adults ages 21 and older in Fairfax County and surrounding areas. Running from April through August at the Hybla Valley Community Center, this series is open to everyone, especially individuals and families looking for low-barrier mental health support and wellness tools.

Together, we’ll explore mental wellness through hands-on, engaging sessions. Activities include mindfulness painting, plant-making therapy, journaling, breathwork, and group reflection. All of this in a supportive, community-centered space!

Registration is required. Space is limited; reserve your spot today! We can’t wait to grow with you.

Cohort Commitment

This is more than a series; it’s a shared journey. We encourage full participation in all 6 sessions to get the most out of the experience. To be part of the cohort, we ask that you attend at least 4 sessions.

📅 Workshop 1: April 19 - Intro to Mental Wellness & Mindfulness Painting

Discover what mental wellness really means and how creativity can be a tool for healing. You'll participate in a mindfulness-based painting activity designed to help you relax and reflect.

📅 Workshop 2: May 10 - Building Resilience, Healthy Relationships & Plant-Making Therapy

Learn how to build emotional resilience and foster healthier relationships in your daily life. You'll also create your own plant arrangement to take home, rooted in wellness and growth.

📅 Workshop 3: June 7 - Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation & Journaling

Explore tools to stay grounded when emotions feel overwhelming. This session includes guided journaling and reflection exercises to help you reconnect with your inner self.

📅 Workshop 4: July 19 - Healthy Communication, Breathwork & Cost-Effective Self-Care

Learn how to communicate with care, especially during stressful moments. In this session, you’ll practice breathwork techniques and explore realistic, affordable self-care strategies you can use at home.

Our founder, Nia Smart, will share personal experiences and insights into the tools and resources she uses to support her own mental wellness. We'll hold space for candid conversations and open Q&A, come as you are, ask questions, and connect in community.

📅 Workshop 5: August 16 - Supporting Your Whole Wellbeing: Mini Resource Fair & Self-Care Planning

Get connected to local health and wellness resources! This session features a mini community health fair followed by a self-care planning activity to help you move forward with confidence.

📅 Workshop 6 : August 30 - Creating a Wellness Action Plan & Create Your Own Joy Jar
Wrap up the series by designing your personal wellness action plan and creating a “Joy Jar” to carry positive moments forward.
